Continuing Medical Education
Physicians and everyone on the healthcare team rely on accredited continuing education to help them improve their practice and deliver high-quality, safe, effective patient care. Accredited educational activities address a full range of topics important to health care—from the latest breakthroughs in medical research to providing patient-centered care. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine is accredited with commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The UAMS COM Office of Continuing Medical Education ensures that all its CME activities meet the ACCME’s Essential Criteria and the Standards for Commercial Support. The OCME may also work with non-accredited health-related organizations, medical associations or societies, to jointly provide accredited activities. The OCME also provides different levels of planning services from instructional design and curriculum development to a range of meeting planning and management options.
