ANNOUNCING the UAMS Faculty Center for Mediation

updated 10/9/2014

Dear Faculty Colleagues:

I am pleased to inform you that UAMS has established a faculty Center for Mediation to provide dispute resolution and professional coaching resources for our faculty members who are facing difficult changes and/or conflict. The center will be facilitated by multiple specially trained mediators including Christina Clark, Chief of Staff in the Chancellor’s Office, who will serve as Director, with guidance from UAMS staff members with human resources and legal expertise.

Mediation is a voluntary process in which two or more parties in conflict meet with a trained, neutral mediator to identify and clarify issues in an effort to reach an agreement that best accommodates the needs and interests of all parties.

If you are experiencing a conflict that you think may benefit from mediation, I encourage you to call Ms. Clark at 686-5605 for assistance. For more information about the Center for Mediation, please read the attached Q&A Overview.
