
Emotional Wellness is more than just handling stress. It also involves having a positive attitude, high self-esteem, a strong sense of who you are as a person, and the ability to be recognize and share a wide range of feelings with others in a constructive way. It is important to understand that our bodies and minds are interconnected. Stress can take a toll on physical health as well as having negative emotional effects. Emotionally well individuals can cope with life stressors effectively.
What are some signs of emotional wellness?
- Be aware of and accept our feelings, rather than deny them
- Have an optimistic approach to live
- Express emotions appropriately
- Being able to adjust to change
- Coping with stress in a healthy way
- Saying “no” when you need to without feeling guilty
- You feel content most of the time
- Enjoy life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations
- Being able to relax
- Feeling good about who you are
