What is your home town?
I grew up in the Midwest and call the Chicagoland area home.
Where did you attend medical school?
St. George’s University of London (Cyprus and Chicago Campus).
What other educational credentials do you have?
My undergraduate degree is from The University of Chicago, where I have an AB in Human Development.
What are your particular clinical interests?
I’m intrigued by early intervention and lifestyle medicine for children and adults at every stage of life. I appreciate full spectrum medicine and am interested in honing my ER, OB, procedural, and surgical skills.
The question “why” fascinates me. I’m looking forward to learning more about personalized medicine like genomics and pharmacogenomics and how these innovations will shape the landscape of Family and Preventive Medicine in the future.
Why did you choose Family Medicine?
Every individual is a collection of stories, decisions, synapses, love, dreams, and fears.
I stand enamored daily by the complexities of the body, the unparalleled intensity of the human spirit, and the enchantment of a child’s laugh.
Why Family Medicine? This discipline is where I find my best self. Family Medicine is where I can be of service, from beginning to end, for whomever is in need, wherever they may be. I can do all of these things in the way my childhood mind imagined a doctor to be: Ever challenged, no day the same, no person is alike.
Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?
When I interviewed at UAMS Little Rock, I could tell there was something special here.
Some of the few reasons I chose UAMS is its university setting: Trauma 1 center, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, enthusiastic mentors, strong preventive medicine culture and passionate physicians. There’s a pursuit of excellence with the ingredients of nature, walkability, sunshine, warm people, and great food.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
On a perfect sunny day, you can find me walking through a town or an interesting city, sightseeing, window watching, on my way to do something fun, or eat something great. I enjoy traveling and exploring a new city or culture. I’ve had the great pleasure of visiting many cities across Europe and the Mediterranean, and have lived in Cyprus, Mexico, and Argentina.
I’m propelled by challenges, knowledge, and the pursuit of self improvement. I love trivia and games. My disclaimer: I’m a little competitive and still working on my sportsmanship.
As a bookworm and a movie buff, I revel in classical themes, historical dramas, dystopian post-apocalyptic worlds, science fiction, and underdog sports stories. I appreciate how music can speak to the soul and have been known to have impromptu dance parties with my younger brother.
My artistic talents are limited to singing, poetry, and amateur photography.
