Research and Academic Interests: His research interests include traumatic brain injury, oncology, biomechanics of the spine, and historical topics. Dr. Helton was recently published twice on metastatic cranial disease. Prior to Covid-19, he was given a plenary talk at the AANS Annual Meeting to discuss the traumatic brain injury General Hooker suffered at Chancellorsville. He is currently a fellow of the Congress of State Neurosurgery Societies.
Hobbies: Outside of work, he enjoys golf, fishing, hiking, camping, and birdwatching.
