The UAMS Hematopathology Division interprets over 6,000 bone marrow, lymph node and other biopsies annually, including cases from the UAMS Medical Center, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and outside consultation cases. The Hematopathology Division consists of 6 full-time board certified hematopathologists and one molecular pathologist. The Division is closely coordinated with the Division of Hematology & Oncology and the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy. The Hematopathology Service offers a wide range of ancillary studies, including a comprehensive array of immunohistochemical stains, 6-color flow cytometry, molecular techniques, and special coagulation studies. External consultation includes comprehensive and integrated evaluation of morphologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular studies.
