After rotating at different institutions during my clerkship years, I noticed a difference in my ability to learn and perform my job when I felt secure and supported by my faculty and leadership. One of the first things anyone told me about the pediatric residency at UAMS is that the program director is warm, gentle, and loving. That statement, combined with the passionate physicians I interviewed with, a beautiful hospital, and the opportunity to work with rural and resource-limited patients, makes me certain that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be.
