Home Town: Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas When I study medicine, I most enjoy learning about: the complex differences in the pediatric and adult populations, but also how you can take a little bit from each to create and see the bigger picture! Things that make me unique are: I’m a doctor in a family full of amazing farmers. I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: spend time with my wife Amy and our rescued Walker coonhound, Riley. I also like to do all the cliché Arkansas things: hunting, spending time at our family farm, and watching the Razorbacks any chance I get. To get myself motivated I think of: my faith and family. I also think of the underserved people of east Arkansas and how I one day hope to return and practice there. Favorites Books: The Bible, Wild at Heart, Harry Potter, A Time to Kill, Where the Red Fern grows, Old Yeller Movies: The Godfather I & II, Remember the Titans, Star Wars (not the sequels), Friday Night Lights, Harry Potter, The Departed, Lone Survivor, Forrest Gump, Top Gun, Gladiator, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Patriot, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Shawshank Redemption, etc. TV Show: The Office, Last Chance U, ER, Yellowstone, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Last Dance Music: Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, George Strait (any 90s country), Michael Jackson, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Post Malone, Led Zeppelin, Eric Church, Cody Johnson, Sturgill Simpson I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and: the children of Arkansas deserve passionate and dedicated physicians to take care of them. I was also a patient at ACH when I was a kid, and I am so happy I could match at a place that has had such an impact on my life!

Home Town: Bald Knob, AR When I study medicine, I most enjoy learning about: while I prefer a variety of topics over a single, focused topic, I am naturally drawn towards cardiology. Things that make me unique are: I have two children, Gatlin and Ivy, with my wonderful wife Lauren. I also am an avid chess player. I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: play type of sport, hunting, fishing, playing chess, solve puzzles To get myself motivated I think of: I try and picture myself at the end of the journey in order to motivate me to stay disciplined in the moment. Favorites Books: Outside of the Bible, I haven’t really read a book since high school. Movies: The Dark Knight Rises, The Matrix, The Avengers (yeah I like superhero movies) TV Shows: The Office, Forged in Fire Music: My favorite band is “Red” I chose: I love dealing with the intricacies and physiologic differences that make pediatric medicine different from adult medicine

Home Town: Rogers, AR When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: pathophysiology of diseases, preventative medicine and health disparities, chronic illness management, and how to better patient and medical education. Things that make me unique are: I can usually whip up a meal with whatever leftovers or produce is left in the fridge and I never follow recipes. I also got a blackbelt in Taekwondo and did a year of synchronized swimming (yes, we did formations to music in the water) during my childhood years. I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: play and watch tennis, dance, paint, create chalkboard/digital art (@pd.creates), eat and cook new foods, travel, and spend time with family and friends. To get myself motivated I think of: my family and how grateful I am to be where I am today. Favorites Books: Open by Andre Agassi, Thriller/Mystery novels Movies: Monster’s Inc./University, Toy Story, everything Marvel, National Treasure, The Day After Tomorrow, Home Alone, Alaipayuthey, K3G… the list is endless. TV Show: The Office, Schitt’s Creek, Grey’s Anatomy, Elite, Jane the Virgin, Scandal, HTGAWM, TVD series, NHIV, New Girl, The Patriot Act…once again, I could go on. I also love spending time with my parents watching a variety of Tamil shows. Music: I am up for listening to anything! I especially love my Tamil songs though, including ARR, Sid Sriram, and Ilaiyaraja. I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: the people I got to work with during my med school rotations were phenomenal and so supportive! I also loved the patient population and wanted to be a part of the impact that ACH has in our state.

Home Town: Baton Rouge, LA When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: the “why” behind a disease process and its treatment Things that make me unique are: I grew up in Baton Rouge, LA and one of my favorite things to do is go to LSU football games! I still get chills when the entire stadium stands to sing “Callin’ Baton Rouge” I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: go to Orange Theory Fitness, cook, and cheer on the LSU Tigers! To get myself motivated I think of: all the hard work I’ve put in to get to this point Favorites Books: anything by Nicholas Sparks, mystery novels, or science fiction Movies: The Proposal, The Devil Wears Prada, and pretty much any other chick flick TV Show: Grey’s Anatomy, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Gilmore Girls Music: country and pop I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: the people are so kind and welcoming

Home Town: AnHui, China or Overland Park, KS Study: Pathophysiology of disease processes and the physiology of our body functions. It’s interesting how your body is like a giant puzzle! Unique: I love to dance! I used to dance Salsa in Dallas for a year, however haven’t found much time to contribute that hobby. So instead, I’d do dance workouts on YouTube with The Fitness Marshall. I welcome you all to join me!!!!! I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: train and play with my dogs (Charizard and Vulpix), gardening and playing tennis with my husband. Occasionally, I’ll play tunes on the piano. To get myself motivated I think of: my parents and remembering the struggles they went through seeking medical care due to language and cultural barrier. Favorites Books: I’m a Harry Potter fan!!! Movies: Any Disney movie (I cry in all of them and I don’t know why!), Marvel movies, a silent Voice TV Show: Haikyu! Music: I like all kinds of music! I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: Everyone I met during interview were friendly and welcoming. Definitely sensed the camaraderie between residents and they seemed well-supported by their programs!
