The People
The division includes five board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, one general pediatrician and two basic science research faculty all with academic appointments in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. State-of-the-art clinical care is provided by a team approach incorporating the services of certified diabetes educators (4), certified dieticians (1), specialized endocrine nurses (3), social workers (2) and clinical research coordinators (2). In addition, an endocrine physician is on call 24-hours/day for emergency situations involving endocrine patients followed at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Every year, several members of the division also provide volunteer medical supervision to the MedCamps of Arkansas summer Diabetes Camp.
