Major Interests

  • Assessing and developing novel pedagogical methods in medical and health sciences education, including the use of Team Based-Learning and AI.
  • Advancing diversity in health care work force through educational outreach for K-12 students and educators.
  • Promoting wellness principles and skills in the medical and health science education models, including the use of mindfulness, yoga, and art.

Highlighted Roles

  • Serve as a Program Site Visitor for the Accreditation Review Commission for Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) since 2021
  • Have served in the UAMS Academic Senate since 2016, including holding the President Seat from 2019-2025.
  • Have held multiple leadership roles in education including Director of Research and Assessment, Associate Program Director, Course Director, and currently Assistant Module Director of the COM Human Structure course.
  • Have received multiple teaching awards and honors including the Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award (2020), PA Faculty of the Year (2018), CHP Excellence in Teaching Award (2017), and have served as the Valediction Keynote speaker for the UAMS PA program (2023 and 2024).
