Nov. 26, 2025 | The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) hosted 15 students from the Hall-West High School of Innovation for a Nov. 18 workshop that focused on workplace conduct and career exploration.
The workshop was organized by UAMS Academic Pathways and Workforce Partnerships as part of its Research Academic Mentorship Pathway program. For seniors at Hall High’s health sciences academy, the program provides opportunities to meet with representatives from UAMS’ five colleges and graduate school and to build the skills they’ll need for college and career.

Drs. Stanley, Syed and Akhter all helped immensely with this event along with about 10 medical students. Dr. Stanley created a fun pathology station using nerf guns and brain imaging! In addition, Dr. Davies also provided a handout for the brain anatomy, which the students could take home.
I am especially grateful to James Williamson for helping me coordinate this last minute, get it set up, and cleaned up afterwards and to Celia McCaslin and Bryan Rousey for getting the specimens put together.
