
Dr. Cory Willis received his B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in Neuroscience and his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2019 in the laboratory of Dr. Stephen Crocker. From 2019, Cory has been a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Stefano Pluchino in the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, University of Cambridge, UK and was recently promoted to Senior Research Associate.
During his postdoctoral training, Cory has applied a combination of animal and human modeling to address the interplay between metabolism and glial function in the pathobiology of neurodegenerative diseases, with emphasis on Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Cory has generated 26 papers and three book chapters as a student and postdoctoral fellow (12 as first or co-first author) including recent Nature and PNAS papers. He has secured significant funding during his postdoctoral training including a National MS Society (USA) postdoctoral fellowship, a UK MS Catalyst grant for early career researchers and is currently co-Investigator on a Project Grant through the Rosetrees Trust.
