Application Cycle for the Fellowship Position Starting July 1
We are an American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology approved Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program. We only accept Electronic Residency Application Service-submitted (ERAS) applications, and we participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) match. We review all applications received by 4:00 p.m. CT on the last weekday before the ERAS application deadline. For example, if the deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, our deadline is 4:00 p.m. CT the Friday before.
Program Requirements
We accept applicants who have satisfactorily completed* an Obstetrics & Gynecology residency accredited by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and have acquired basic knowledge and skills in obstetrics and gynecology. [*Including applicants who anticipate successful completion in time to begin their fellowship training July 1.]
Visa Requirements
We accept applicants who currently hold an independent immigration visa (green card) / work visa, which is valid for the entire duration of our three-year fellowship training program. We cannot accept applicants who are required to apply for a visa extension AFTER they are accepted into a fellowship training program, or whose visa is dependent upon another person staying in the US. A copy of the valid visa should be submitted via email. We cannot make any exceptions to these requirements.
ERAS Application
We accept ERAS-submitted applications. E-mailed applications are not accepted.
NRMP Match
We participate in the NRMP match; therefore, applicants must have an active AAMC#.
Personal Statement
In the ERAS Common Application Form [CAF], your one-page Personal Statement should describe your interest in pursuing a fellowship in MFM and your long-range goals after fellowship is completed. This may include any specific research or clinical interests and plans to serve as an MFM consultant in private practice or academic medicine.
Letters of Recommendation
We require a minimum of three letters of recommendation [LoR] from professional colleagues, one of which must be from the Program Director [PD] of your residency program. Your letters should be submitted via ERAS.
Post-Residency Applicants
If your former PD is no longer with the associated program the current PD should provide a completion of residency statement, which the applicant should upload to ERAS. This Statement does not count as a Letter of Recommendation (LoR); therefore, post-residency applicants should submit a minimum of three LoRs from professional colleagues, one of which must be from a current professional colleague. All LoRs should be submitted via ERAS.
Research Experience
In the ERAS CAF Professional Experience section, please make sure to include a detailed description of your research experiences, including your resident research project.
Photograph
In your ERAS CAF, upload a wallet-sized color photograph.
USMLE Step 1 – 3 Score Reports
Applicants should contact the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) to request their scores be released to our program. Once requested, we should receive the transcripts via ERAS within 48 hours [ERAS Post Office must be open in order for our program to receive your reports; visit ERAS Fellowships Timeline for additional information].
