Learn About Our Fellowship
Program Overview
Welcome to the UAMS Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program where educating physicians to be leaders in the unique care of older adults is our mission!
Since its inception in 1978, the geriatrics fellowship program has trained more than 79 geriatricians, making Arkansas among the states with the highest number of geriatricians per capita. Training in geriatrics at UAMS puts you in good company of other world-class geriatrics training programs. Our training program has consistently ranked in the top ten percent of programs in U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of best graduate schools.
The Department of Geriatrics, with the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, is one of six designated centers of excellence on the UAMS campus and is housed in a state-of-the-art facility that includes basic and clinical research, educational programs, primary care and sub-specialty clinics, rehabilitation services and administration all under one roof. This allows basic and clinical researchers, educators and clinicians to engage in collaborative activities that further the science of aging through a synergy that is changing the way older Americans live.
