Priya Mendiratta, M.D., M.P.H.
Fellowship Program Director
Dr. Mendiratta serves as the director for the geriatric clerkship and is a board certified geriatrician. She has provided clinical care at the Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic at UAMS since 2005 as a geriatric fellow. She is a Certified Medical Director in post-acute and long-term care medicine and functions as medical director of two long-term care facilities in the Little Rock area.
Dr. Mendiratta received her medical degree from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Sewagram, Nagpur University, India, and pursued her residency in internal medicine in India. She later received a master’s degree in public health from Boston University School of Public Health. Her clinical training in the United States includes a family medicine residency and a two-year geriatrics fellowship in the UAMS Department of Geriatrics. In 2018 she was elected to the UAMS Academic Senate as a College of Medicine representative and serves on many other UAMS education committees.
Jeanne Wei, M.D., Ph.D.
Assistant Fellowship Program Director
Dr. Wei, a renowned researcher, geriatrician, cardiologist and educator, has said that one of her primary missions is the “generation of solutions to some of the toughest clinical and systems issues facing the aging population today.”
Dr. Wei is board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics and cardiovascular medicine and sees patients in the Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic in the Institute on Aging. After obtaining her medical degree and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois, Dr. Wei completed an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as a staff fellowship in gerontology at the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Aging in Baltimore. She then joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where she became Director of the Division on Aging at Harvard and Chief of the Gerontology Division at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
She was recruited to UAMS in 2002.
