The UAMS College of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Office is seeking nominations for the GME Educator Award for Program Coordinators. The submission deadline for this award is Monday, February 24, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Central. The GME Educator Award for Program Coordinators will be awarded to an individual that demonstrates significant contributions to the graduate medical education community. This category refers to the individual who supports the program director, manages the day-to-day operations of the residency or fellowship program, and is actively involved in the ACGME functions of the program.
Eligibility Requirements
- Program coordinator for an ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship program.
- Program has a status of Continued Accreditation.
- Individual has at least three years total experience as a program coordinator (may combine program coordinator experience from other institutions/programs) at the time of nomination submission.
Criteria for Selection
Nominees must:
- meet eligibility requirements
- demonstrate significant contributions to the graduate medical education community and proven excellence in the following areas:
- communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external constituents
- understanding of and facilitating excellence in program’s ACGME accreditation processes
- organizing and coordinating activities needed to promote program excellence
- personal lifelong learning, leadership, and mentorship of others
Nomination Instructions
Three components are required for nomination:
- A completed nomination form.
- Signed letters of support (each letter is limited to 500 words or less).
- A current resume/curriculum vitae.
About the Letters of Support
- The letters must state the reasons for the nomination and provide concrete examples of how the nominee fulfills each of the criteria outlined above, including significant contributions to graduate medical education.
- Letters should be addressed to the Selection Committee.
- Comments from a group (faculty members, residents, etc.) should be compiled into one group letter.
- Required Letters of Support: Program Director and Current Resident
- No more than three letters of support for each nominee will be accepted.
