GME and UAMS Hospital Resident Orientation
Orientation will be in-person and is MANDATORY for all incoming residents.

Resident Hands-On Administrative Tasks
By the end of April, residents will be assigned a time slot to complete the hands-on administrative portion of orientation. Please come only at your assigned time. Typically it will take about an hour to complete all of the tasks

GME and UAMS Hospital Fellow Orientation
We will record the Resident Orientation and turn it into modules. Incoming fellows are required to complete the orientation modules prior to the start of their clinical duties. The orientation modules will be provided to you prior to July 1. Please remember that you cannot start clinical duties until the MANDATORY GME and Hospital Orientation modules (and a quiz at the end) have been completed.
Fellow Hands-On Administrative Tasks
Fellows will be assigned a time slot to complete the hands-on administrative portion of orientation. Please come only at your assigned time. Typically it will take about an hour to complete all of the tasks.

Tasks to be completed during assigned hands-On time
- I-9 COMPLETION | Must bring two forms of ID to complete I-9’s. IDs must be current. Expired IDs will not be accepted. Click here to view approved documents for I-9 completion.
- BENEFITS APPROVAL | Benefit forms will be completed via Workday. UAMS Human Resources will review and make sure the forms are complete and there are no visible issues. If you are including family members on your insurance plans and have not already uploaded copies of your marriage license and/or copies of your children’s birth certificates to your profile, please bring copies to the hands-on day of orientation.
- EMPLOYEE HEALTH SCREEN | Employee Health will check to ensure all required immunizations and screenings are complete.
- ENROLLMENT IN THE ELECTRONIC PRESCRIBING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES (EPCS) SYSTEM AND IMPRIVATA
- RESPIRATOR FIT TESTING | Residents/Fellows must complete two trainings in Workday before they will be able to be to fit tested. These trainings are CO N95 Respirator Safety Training and CO 3M Versaflo (PAPR) training. There is also a form that must be completed prior to the fit test. However, the resident/fellow must know their UAMS username/password and be on-campus to complete this form.
- PARKING DECAL PICK-UP | On June 1st, you will receive a link to an electronic parking form. The electronic form must be completed by 5:00pm on Wednesday, June 14, in order to pick up your decal at face-to-face orientation. If you do not complete the online parking form registration by the deadline you will have to go to parking operations to obtain you parking sticker.
- ID BADGE PICK-UP | Trainees will be able to pick up their badges if you have completed the ID Badge Photo step correctly in the New Innovations checklist. There are specific criteria for the badge photo upload. If you do not complete this step, you will not have a badge at face-to-face orientation and will have to go to the badge office for pick-up.
