Dr. Tommy Martin
With several million followers on social media, Dr. Tommy Martin is a well-known alumnus of the UAMS internal medicine and pediatrics residency. When he’s not caring for pediatric and adult patients in the hospital or training for a marathon or Ironman world championship, he uses his social media platform to provide evidence-based fitness and health information and to motivate and inspire his followers.
Dr. Sarenthia Epps
A supportive and education-minded team of upper-level residents and attendings helped Dr. Sarenthia Epps find joy—and calling—in an initially overwhelming ICU experience as an intern. From there, she took advantage of the educational, mentorship, and research opportunities available in the UAMS Department of Internal Medicine to prepare herself for treating patients with lung diseases and the critically ill in southeast Arkansas.
Dr. Bruce Murphy
Dr. Bruce Murphy received two doctoral degrees and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at UAMS in the 1980s. An early introduction to heart disease and cardiac catheterization during his training catapulted him into a successful career devoted to diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease and educating the next generation of cardiologists. Dr. Basheer Khassawneh
Dr. Basheer Khassawneh is an alumnus of multiple training programs in the Department of Internal Medicine. He is now the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Jordan University of Science and Technology and still maintains an active clinical practice as a pulmonologist and sleep medicine physician at King Abdullah University Hospital in Jordan.
