Hometown: Checotah, OK – “The Steer Wrestling Capitol of the World”
Medical School: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Fav thing about UAMS Internal Medicine Residency? The accessibility of the faculty. Hands down.
Fav thing about living in Little Rock or Arkansas? The family I married into lives here. They are collectively wonderful. I enjoy spending time with them. I like drinking coffee and eating pie with Nanny, in particular.
What you want to do with your life? In terms of medicine, I am leaning toward primary care. Continuity is important to me. Outside of medicine, I want to become a good human and raise good humans.
What do you do outside of the hospital to relax/have fun? When time permits, you have to get in a quality date night. This typically looks like: The Pantry, The Fold, or Three Fold followed by Loblolly or Milo’s.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be? Hard to say, but almost certainly I would create a lawn care company with a cliche name like Lawn Doctor.
Fav show to binge watch? This one is evolving. I just finished Waco which was particularly interesting because of its ties to the Oklahoma City Bombing which was relatively close to my hometown. All things related to the CIA get added into the queue.
Fun fact about yourself that not a lot of people know?
- I am the least looking Native American you may ever meet.
- I have raised a myriad of livestock (cattle, chickens, a donkey, goats, pigs, and sheep) at different times in my life.
- I traveled with a quartet for a while that sang 50s and 60s Doo-Wop.
