Fav thing about being PD for the UAMS Internal Medicine Residency? Getting to work day in and day out with amazing people. Our residents are such a diverse group of individuals, each with their own interests and strengths, but what they have in common is that they are all intelligent, warm, compassionate, and dedicated. Their intellectual curiosity keeps me and the rest of the faculty on our toes in the best way. Plus they are friendly and so much fun to be around.
Fav thing about living in Little Rock or Arkansas? It’s a perfectly sized city, big enough that it has everything, yet small enough to be easy to get around in. There is little traffic, lots to see and do, people are friendly, and a 20 minute drive in any direction gets you out of the city and into nature.
What do you do outside of the hospital to relax/have fun? I like to travel with my family. We love to explore new and interesting places and try new restaurants. I also enjoy reading books (spy novels, mysteries, history), watching movies, following Razorback sports, spending time with friends.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be? Probably some type of engineer, but I would have been miserable.
Fav show to binge watch? The Office, Seinfeld, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Fun fact about yourself that not a lot of people know? I collect stamps.
Anything else you want the world/future applicants to know about yourself or the program? This program and institution are absolutely dedicated to the success and well-being of our residents. We work with each of our residents to make sure they have the tools to achieve their goals and be the best physicians they can be.
