Tenure-Track Faculty Positions Available

The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications for full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, extramurally funded research program. They will have the opportunity to participate in the education of medical and/or graduate students within the College of Medicine and Graduate School. All outstanding neuroscientists are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in applications from individuals who complement our existing research strengths including neurodegenerative disorders and neuroendocrinology. We are also interested in neuro-oncology researchers who can contribute to the expansion of our campus-wide center of excellence in cancer.

We offer excellent resources to support new faculty, including competitive salaries and startup packages, partnered mentoring, and state-of-the-art core facilities that include bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, and advanced microscopy. Further details about departmental resources, ongoing research programs, and graduate training are available on our website. UAMS also offers an outstanding benefit package.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is Arkansas’ only academic health sciences university and the largest public employer in the state of Arkansas. It is located in Little Rock, Arkansas’ capital city, with outreach programs operating throughout the state. UAMS includes five colleges, a graduate school, eight Area Health Education Centers, and eight institutes of excellence, including the W.P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. Find out more about the institution, its programs and mission at https://web.uams.edu/about.
