Medical Training
Dr. Reece Mitchell received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine.
Achievements
Dr. Mitchell graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Hendrix College in 2020. During his time at Hendrix College, he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the 2020 M.J. McHenry Award, granted to the highest achieving chemistry graduate.
During medical school, he completed his degree with Honors in Research and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Additionally, he received the prestigious Buchanan Key Scholarship as a fourth year medical student.
Service
Dr. Mitchell has volunteered locally with the Sight Savers Ophthalmology Clinic at River City Ministries and the UAMS 12th Street Health and Wellness Clinic to provide comprehensive eye care, medical screening, and glasses prescriptions to underserved members of the Little Rock community. He has also participated in international volunteer efforts in El Progresso, Honduras, working alongside members of the Jones Eye Institute to provide free cataract surgeries to those in need.
Outside Interests and Hobbies
Dr. Mitchell enjoys playing piano and outdoor activities including cycling, rock climbing, hiking, and snow skiing. He enjoys these activities especially in the company of family and friends.
