Medical Training

Dr. Khan received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas in May of 2025.

Achievements

Dr. Khan received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a minor in Spanish from Wichita State University in May of 2021, graduating with honors and summa cum laude. Since an undergraduate student, Dr. Khan has been very involved with research. His initial research at WSU was in working on the protein Lactate Dehydrogenase to assess amino acid sequence mutations on protein characteristics. In medical school, Dr. Khan continued his passion for research, initially publishing research relating Rheumatoid Arthritis to Interstitial Lung disease and lung airways disease. After realizing his dream for ophthalmology, he has worked on publishing research on endophthalmitis and oculoplastics.

During his time as an undergraduate and medical student, Dr. Khan was awarded several merit based scholarships. He also received multiple poster and presentation awards across the country for his research.

Service

Dr. Khan is very passionate about giving back to the community. Growing up in Kansas, he would volunteer at free clinics for underserved populations with limited access to healthcare and has continued this throughout his career. As a medical student, he would volunteer at the JayDoc Community Clinic in Kansas City, Kansas, serving to help with the underserved population of Wyandotte County. He would also volunteer at the KU Lions Eye Clinic to provide free eye care and surgeries to the uninsured population of Kansas City.

In addition to his passion for the community, Dr. Khan loves to be involved in global outreach and international healthcare. As a medical student he spent two weeks in Guatemala working in a local family medicine clinic. He also spent a full month working in a public hospital in Santiago, Chile, where he learned to perfect his medical Spanish skills and learn about global challenges in healthcare.

Dr. Khan has also been very involved in student groups throughout his medical journey. Notably, he was the Lead Clinical Educator for the Ophthalmology surgery rotation for all third year medical students. He would provide them all with valuable skills, lectures, and dissections to help prepare them for their surgery rotations.

Outside Interest and Hobbies

Dr. Khan grew up heavily involved in all kinds of sports and activities. To this day he loves playing golf, running, hiking, rock climbing, tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, etc. He is very excited to be moving to Little Rock to be closer to nature and to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. He is a scratch golfer and is eager to try out all of the golf courses in Arkansas. He is an avid sports watcher and is a diehard Kansas City Chiefs and Oklahoma City Thunder fan.
