Medical Training
Dr. Tony Chacko received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock, Arkansas in May 2022.
Achievements
During medical school, Dr. Chacko was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He graduated in the top 10% of his class and was awarded the Barton Foundation Scholarship. In addition, he has multiple publications in the field of Ophthalmology and graduated with Honors in Research from the College of Medicine. He also served as a co-president of the Ophthalmology Interest Group during his senior year.
Dr. Chacko received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas Honors College in May 2018. He was inducted into the nationally-recognized Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society. In addition, he was awarded merit-based academic scholarships and successfully defended an honors thesis in the field of molecular microbiology and genomics.
Service
Dr. Chacko is passionate about community service. He frequently volunteers at the River City Ministry Sight Savers Eye Clinic in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He enjoys helping the team provide a comprehensive eye exam, glasses prescription, and donated eyeglasses to the underserved population in Central Arkansas.
In addition, he has a strong interest in global outreach. Dr. Chacko has participated in three medical mission trips to Guatemala. He loved being a member of the cataract surgery team to promote better vision worldwide.
During his time at the University of Arkansas Honors College, Dr. Chacko served as a board member of the Volunteer Action Center. He enjoyed working as the sponsorship coordinator for various community service events in Northwest Arkansas. He was awarded The President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2016.
Outside Interests & Hobbies
Dr. Chacko loves sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoys playing golf, baseball, flag football and tennis.
