Medical Training
Dr. Zhuojun Guo received her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey in May 2023.
Achievements
During medical school, Dr. Guo was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She graduated as the top graduate of her class and was awarded the Bergen Medal, Cento Amici Award, and NJ Medical Women’s Association Award for her notable achievements in clinical studies, research, and leadership in medical school.
Besides her medical degree, Dr. Guo also received a Ph.D. degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She majored in Biochemistry in graduate school and her research in structure biology was published in top scientific journals such as Nature Structural & Molecular Biology and Nature Communications.
Service
Dr. Guo was involved extensively in activities to assist the local community in Newark. She was an active member of the Student Family Health Care Center (SFHCC), the student-run free clinic of her medical school. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered in the Fresh Produce Distribution Task Force of Newark to pack fresh produce and food items for seniors and low-income families living in Newark. She was commended by a resolution issued by the Newark municipal council for this service in 2021.
Outside Interests and Hobbies
Dr. Guo enjoys spending time with her family and cats. She likes hiking and cooking. Her dream is to travel the world.
