Child Abuse Fellowship Director

Associate Professor
Having grown up in Arkansas, I am happy to have found my way back to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2019 after completing my pediatric residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2014 and completing a Child Abuse Fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in 2019. I was drawn to the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics with a combined love of medicine and pediatrics and a background in sociology, recognizing that our environments and upbringing have a profound impact on long-term health and well-being. Professionally, I try to maintain balance with my dedication to patient care as well as the development of our education curriculum for residents and ongoing new and exciting scholarly projects. I love teaching and will rarely miss an opportunity to speak with learners of all types about the medical approach to abused and neglected children. I also have led efforts to improve pediatric resident wellness and continue to advocate for efforts to improve clinician wellbeing.
Personally, I stay busy with my family including a musician/therapist husband and two energetic and fun daughters. You will often find me going out to eat, at an occasional scary movie in theaters or at a park, the zoo or museum of discovery with my kids. I grew up in Little Rock and love to talk about all of the fun things our city has to offer!
Child Abuse Fellow

I grew up in Arkansas, attended medical school at UAMS, completed a Pediatrics residency at UAMS/ACH and stayed at UAMS/ACH for my fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics. I have chosen Arkansas and UAMS/ACH time and time again because I love the nature and outdoor activities that Arkansas has to offer, I love the community and support of UAMS/ACH staff, and I love the patients that we get to serve.
