Dr. Crowell is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She began her training in Family Medicine at Meharry but completed her final year at UAMS in the department of Family and Community Medicine. In 2005, Dr. Crowell joined what is now the UAMS Office of Health Initiatives and Disparities Research. She works as the Physician Educator and Clinical Coordinator for the Colorectal Cancer Screening and Prevention Program. In this role, she has been instrumental in the education of providers and patients across the state of Arkansas regarding current colorectal cancer screening guidelines and screening options. She is an active member of the Arkansas Cancer Coalition and the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable.
