Marie Schluterman Burdine
Dr. Burdine earned her doctorate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX in 2010 in the laboratory of Dr. Rolf Brekken. Here she studied the role of the tumor microenvironment in the metastatic potential of pancreatic tumor cells.
Dr. Burdine continued her training at UAMS for her post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Alan Tackett. Here, Dr. Burdine employed mass spectrometry to identify mechanisms that drive chemoresistance in Medullary Thyroid Cancer.
She joined UAMS as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery in 2017. Her lab is located at the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute.
