About Us
Clinician-scientists are the backbone of discovery and translational advances. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is firmly committed to growing and cultivating the education and critical support needed to develop successful clinician-scientists who will literally change the world.
Centralized Resource
The Office of Clinician-Scientist Development (OCSD) is a purposeful, centralized resource for all UAMS faculty, trainees, and students to harness the many educational, mentorship, and research-enhancing programs and opportunities that span the massive academic medical center. By functioning as a unified clearinghouse, clinician-scientists have a single location to obtain advice, resources, and collaborations to enhance and expand their work.
Unwavering Commitment
This office is the entire university’s unwavering commitment to excellence in medical science and training. The OCSD is housed within the UAMS College of Medicine and supported at the highest levels throughout the entire medical university. All 20 of the College’s clinical departments and seven basic science departments are behind this joint transformative effort. At UAMS, that also means direct connections with multiple other colleges and graduate programs to expand the interactome of research possibilities.
