Scholarly activity is a required component of the residency training program. The faculty establishes and maintains an environment of inquiry and scholarship with an active research component. All residents are expected to engage in at least one scholarly project during training that will be presented at the annual Resident Research Day during the PGY-3 year. Residents are encouraged to present and/or publish research projects outside of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences arena in the PGY-4 year.
Former and current residents have presented research projects at regional and national levels including The American CongressĀ of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) and the Central Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology (CAOG). Also, many residents, in working with the OB-GYN faculty, have articles published in various Obstetrics and Gynecology journals including Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation and Journal of Perinatology.
