Achievements
Dr. Muayad received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with a Certificate in Biomedical Research & Development.
Throughout his academic and professional career, Dr. Muayad has maintained a strong focus on clinical research, authoring numerous publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals. His scholarly work centers on the intersection of big data and ophthalmology, with a particular focus on studying systemic effects on ocular morbidity. Service
Dr. Muayad is highly dedicated to community service, leadership, and education. He has served on the Leadership Team for TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries, a student-run clinic serving uninsured community members in Houston with limited resources. There, medical students acted as a primary care provider, taking on full patient care responsibilities including managing check-ins, measuring vital signs, and performing physical exams, all in service of underserved communities with limited access to healthcare.
Inspired by the mentors who shaped his own journey, Dr. Muayad founded and served as President of Aggie Med-Link, a program he designed and implemented from the ground up with the goal of paying that guidance forward. The initiative paired medical students with pre-medical students at Texas A&M University to provide meaningful mentorship and career guidance, fostering the next generation of physicians while simultaneously developing the leadership skills of medical students.
Outside Interests and Hobbies
Outside of medicine, Dr. Muayad enjoys playing darts, grilling, video games, and research. He is still working on a work-life balance publication.
