Medical School: Nepal Medical College
Favorite Aspects of Pathology: I’m excited about Hematopathology and also eager to explore GI, dermatopathology and other areas broadly. There’s so much to learn and there’s no limit to what you can learn and explore in pathology. Isn’t it amazing to be in a field with diverse opportunities for discovery and impact?
Outside of Medicine: There are so many things I love to do, and I’ve barely reached 50% of my to-do list! I enjoy gardening, painting, stargazing, and reading horoscopes, although it is a bit offbeat for my medical background. Recently, I’ve been binge-watching reels (though I’d like to change that). I’m a mother of two girls; I miss playing with them, reading stories to them and spending time with my husband Rupesh and our daughters Aria and Eva!
Why I Like UAMS Pathology: Coming from Nepal, Little Rock feels like home with its similarities to my hometown. The department is full of brilliant minds and offers plenty of opportunities to those who seek them, especially at the top-notch Multiple Myeloma center. The friendly and helpful people have made my transition even smoother and I’m proud to have made the right career choice!
Favorite Activity in Arkansas: Hiking; spending evening around two Rivers Park and the big dam bridge.
Favorite Restaurant in Little Rock: KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot; Hillcrest Little Bakery for breakfast; Wasabi for sushi… I am still exploring!
If I weren’t a pathologist, I would be: I’d definitely be an Architect, 100%!
