Favorite aspects of Pathology: I love that pathologists get to see almost every patient population. From clinical lab, surgical pathology, and autopsy, we are there to help find answers.

Outside of Medicine: I love traveling with my husband and exploring national parks. We have two labradors who keep us entertained here at home!

Why I like UAMS Pathology: The residents and faculty at UAMS  are so supportive and excited to see you learn and progress as a pathologist.

Favorite Activity in Arkansas: Hiking and camping. There are so many beautiful places to explore around the state!

Favorite Restaurant in Little Rock: Local Lime, George’s, and Kemuri are always great, and just over the bridge, Cypress Social is amazing!

If I weren’t a pathologist:  I might have been an Occupational Therapist. Helping others overcome challenges with unique solutions would be a great way to be creative and solve a different kind of puzzle.

Favorite Aspects of Pathology:  What's not to love! I think it's honestly beautiful to look at and so rewarding to figure out the root cause of patient's ailments.

Outside of Medicine:  I am an avid painter of surrealism, hiker, gardener, and reader of fiction!

Why I Like UAMS Pathology:   Everyone is so willing to teach and equally willing to learn. The area is also gorgeous and there is plenty to do outside of the hospital. I knew during my audition that the people here were going to support me in the best way!

Favorite Activity in Arkansas:   I love hiking around the area, going on floating trips and going to Crystal Bridges

Favorite Restaurant in Little Rock:  Bar Louie, Homer's Kitchen Table and Lost Forty Brewery

If I weren’t a pathologist, I would be: Probably a veterinarian! I love animals and it's another scientific field that deals with so many different aspects of healing.

Favorite Aspects of Pathology:  There's something for everyone in this field; the breadth is truly staggering. I personally enjoy the general focus on diagnosis rather than management, as well as the emphasis on visual pattern recognition. Also, we get to look at pretty colors all day, whether inking a specimen or looking under the microscope!

Outside of Medicine: I enjoy playing the electric bass, Beatles Rockband, tennis, ping-pong, hiking, thrifting, sketching, pampering my houseplants, collecting vinyl records, and canoeing with my husband and dogs.

Why I Like UAMS Pathology: The faculty are so friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy teaching and getting to know the residents!

Favorite Activity in Arkansas:  I haven't lived here very long but so far I really like the Two Rivers trail, Pinnacle mountain, the Buffalo River, and Crater of Diamonds state park (any diamond you find, you get to keep!)

Favorite Restaurant in Little Rock: Hanabi Hibachi Express (they have fantastic affordable sushi), Local Lime, and Big Bad Breakfast.

If I weren’t a pathologist, I would be: It's hard to choose, but probably a novelist, private investigator, medical illustrator, geologist, zoologist, or a mortician (it may sound morbid, but I think the restorative art element is very cool).
