Quality Improvement (QI) is a systematic, formal approach to the analysis of practice performance and efforts to improve performance.
—American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences works every day to improve the care we provide to the children of Arkansas. By developing and improving our practices and processes, we are better prepared to serve our community. For that reason, the Department encourages all faculty and trainees to be involved in quality and innovation work. The Department actively supports efforts to bridge the gap between ideas and implementation.
Educational Opportunities
Developing an effective quality improvement project requires knowledge of QI methodology. The Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Arkansas Children’s Quality and Safety Committee, offers customized training for faculty and trainees according to their level of knowledge and interest.
