Current Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellows
Dr. Andrew Tran joins us from Dallas, Texas where he completed his pediatric residency at Baylor Scott & White. It has always been a calling of his to take care of pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders. He chose Arkansas Children’s Hospital because he could feel that we were a “big family” and that he was going to learn so much. Completing a dual-fellowship program in Clinical Informatics, Dr. Tran is now in his fourth year of fellowship!
Dr. Paige Strebeck is from Hot Springs, Arkansas, and developed a calling during her pediatric residency to care for children with cancer and blood disorders. She’s obsessed with how tough and resilient kids are. It’s incredible how quickly they can heal—oftentimes entirely...it's truly mind-blowing! Dr. Strebeck wanted to serve children in her home state of Arkansas!
Dr. David Wilson is from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and chose the program because it’s wonderful and..."the people I met were very warm and welcoming and it felt like a home."
Dr. Rachel Mayo is from Van Buren, Arkansas. She completed both her medical school and pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She developed a calling to care for children with cancer and blood disorders during her pediatric residency. She was intrigued by the long-term connections with patients as well as the complexity of medicine. She chose Arkansas Children’s Hospital because of the family feel of the program and the opportunity to continue to serve the children of Arkansas while getting exceptional training!
Dr. Kevin Tharappel grew up in Sydney, Australia. He completed medical school at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He chose UAMS because of the great people he met during his interview day. He is excited to join the hematology/oncology family!
