Faculty in the Neonatology section are actively engaged in several areas of research including multiple clinical trials, the use of computer technology for documentation; appropriate pain control in neonates, and refinement of discharge planning and follow-up medical management of NICU graduates.

The ACH/UAMS pediatric faculty includes over 260 faculty members representing virtually every pediatric subspecialty, including cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, neonatology, gastroenterology, infectious desease, hematology/oncology, pharmacology, and emergency medicine.
Surgical specialties include cardiovascular surgery, general pediatric surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and pediatric otolaryngology, supported by pediatric anesthesiologists.
Critical support physicians for the NICU include pediatric radiologists and pathologists.
