Dr. Eric Peterson (Principal Investigator)
Dr. Peterson has training in molecular biology, protein engineering, antibody engineering and nanotechnology. His main interests are finding ways to combine all of these fields toward designing new treatments for drug abuse.
Past Graduates
Charles Hay, M.S., Ph.D.
Mr. Hay recently received his Ph.D. while working in the Peterson Lab. He holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell College and a Masters degree in Pathology and Microbiology from University of Nebraska Medical Center . His research interests are: autoimmunity, pathogenesis, and drug development.
Chris Bolden, B.S., Ph.D.
Mr. Bolden received his Ph.D. He is a recent graduate from Dr. Peterson’s lab. He holds a B.S. degree in Microbiology from the University of Mississippi. His project focused on utilizing viral expressed scFvs to reduce Methamphetamine’s neuroinflammatory effects.
Emily Reichard, Ph.D.
Dr. Reichard received her Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She also holds a B.S. degree in Biology and Psychology from the College of New Jersey. Her project was focused on designing new antimethamphetamine immunotherapies and testing their ability to reduce methamphetamine’s neurotoxic effects.
Nisha Nanaware-Kharade, Ph.D.
Dr. Nanaware-Kharade is a recent Ph.D. graduate from the Peterson laboratory. Nisha holds a Bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Bombay College of Pharmacy and a M.S. degree in Pharmacy from NIPER, India. She is currently a Clinical Pharmacology Pharmacokineticist at PPD.
Former Lab Members
Laura Ewing, M.S. (Laboratory Manager)
Ms. Ewing served as Laboratory Manager for the Peterson Lab. She is a graduate in the UAMS Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Master’s degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma. She is also a Certified Veterinary Technician.
