Weekends are off on all rotations unless you are on call except during one-month inpatient internal medicine rotation.
PGY-1
- Long call (weekend day 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.): 12
- Short call (weekday 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.): 30
- 12-Hour holiday call (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.): 1-2
- Friday overnight call (4:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.): 1 (occurs May-June; indirect upper level supervision)
- Average of 1 short call per week and 1-2 long calls per month
- Direct supervision with upper level resident on short call July-January and on all long calls
PGY-2
- Long call (weekend day 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.): 5
- Long call (weekend night 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.): 7
- 24-Hour Holiday call (7 a.m. – 7 a.m.): 1 – 2
- Average of one long call per month (not including night float) and no short calls
PGY-3
- Long call (weekend day 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.): 6
- Long call (Friday 4:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.; Saturday 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.): 6
- Short call (weekday 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., July – January only): 8
- Average of one long call and one short call per month
PGY-4
- Long call (weekend day 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.): 4
- Short call (weekday 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., July-January only): 9
- No Overnights
Vacation Time
- 15 days of vacation and 12 days of sick leave per year
- No vacations allowed during the month of inpatient medicine wards or night float
- No other restrictions to vacation time
