
Ruth Olive Beall

Ruth Olive Beall, a champion for children’s health in Arkansas, served as superintendent for Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) and Home from 1934 to 1961. Under Beall’s leadership, ACH survived financial difficulties during the Great Depression, regained national accreditation by the American College of Surgeons, and went on to become a nationally recognized healthcare facility that has helped countless children. Beall served as a national and state officer of the National Tuberculosis Association and established the Arkansas chapter of the March of Dimes.
