Assistant Professor – Division of Internal Medicine
Work Schedule/Location: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5: 30 p.m. [nine clinic sessions/week]
Immediate Supervisor/Title: Dr. Robert Hopkins; Director, Division General Internal Medicine
Position Summary: This Internist [Physician] will establish his/her panel of patients and will provide direct patient care to ambulatory patients in an outpatient clinic, in collaboration with other faculty Internists and Advance Practice Nurses. The Incumbent will participate in the faculty call pool answering after-hours calls for ambulatory patients. Participation in monthly department and division meetings and meeting other requirements of the University will be mandatory. There is potential for some teaching/precepting of students and residents but this is not a core requirement for this position. There will be no hospital/inpatient responsibilities. There may be an opportunity for some after-hours clinic and/or moonlighting in after-hours clinic setting.

Position Supervises/Leads: Clinical Staff [in collaboration with clinic medical director and other faculty]

Interaction: Patients, Medical team members, Consultants, Staff
Essential Physical Requirements: Standing, Walking, Eyesight, Hearing, Speaking, Ability to use Electronic Medical Record.
Exposure to Harsh or Extreme Conditions: Exposure to blood and body fluids on occasional basis.
Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities needed upon entry into the position)
- Advanced Degree: Doctorate of Medicine
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
