
Dr. Michelle Krause serves as Senior Vice Chancellor of UAMS Health and is the Chief Executive Office of UAMS Medical center since 2022. Prior to this role, she served in many leadership roles such as the Chief Clinical officer of UAMS Medical Center, the Service Line Director of Integrated Medicine Service Line, the Vice Chair for Clinical Operations, Qualtity and Efficiency in the Department of Internal Medicine and the medical director for the inpatient and outpatient dialysis programs both at UAMS and CAVHS.
Dr. Krause is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. She joined the faculty at UAMS in 2002 and has been an the Principle Investigator on numerous NIH and VA Cooperative clinical trials. She has been very active in the education of fellows and housestaff at UAMS.
Dr. Krause received her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her internal medicine and nephrology clinical training at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She completed a Nephrology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina. She continued on as a recipient of an NIH Training grant awardee to receive her MPH in Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health with a research focus on medical disparities in chronic kidney disease.
