Message from the Program Director
Thank you for your interest in the Nephrology Fellowship Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality of clinical nephrology training for the fellows who will provide high standard of patient care in the field of nephrology to serve the needs of patients in Arkansas along with other parts of the United States.
Each year we enroll four fellows. Our fully accredited ACGME program provides a two-year well-rounded exposure to clinical, basic science, outcome and translational research, chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis, and solid organ transplantation and allows flexibility for tailoring training in keeping with individual career goals.
The clinical program is conducted at two adjacent hospitals connected by a bridge: the UAMS Medical Center and the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital. These institutions, with a total of nearly 1000 beds, provide a fascinating array of clinical experience.
Overall, the Nephrology Fellowship at UAMS provides an excellent community atmosphere with an inclusive and diverse environment for training that is highly productive for individual and program goals. Moreover, Little Rock is a lovely community with excellent food, cultural, and sports opportunities.
If you are interested in our program, please apply through ERAS.
