Message from the Program Director

Fellowship Director
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Rheumatology Fellowship Program is the only rheumatology training program in the state of Arkansas. Our program’s focus is to produce well-trained clinical rheumatologists with a strong background in and commitment to practicing evidence-based medicine.
Our program goals include:
- To teach fellows to provide state-of-the-art, evidence-based, cost-effective, efficient patient care in preparation for careers as clinical rheumatologists.
- To foster critical thinking skills that advances the understanding and treatment of rheumatic diseases, thus providing an unequaled rheumatology education for all trainees.
- To teach fellows how to enable non-rheumatologists to recognize rheumatic disorders and provide them with the clinical skills to optimize the care of their patients.
