Neurology at UAMS
The Neurology Department has inpatient services at the UAMS Medical Center (UAMS) and at the Central Arkansas Veteran’s Healthcare System (CAVHS). The UAMS Medical Center has more than 400 admissions, 600 inpatient consultations and 5,000 outpatient consultations per year. The CAVHS averages 200 patient admissions, 500 inpatient consultations and 3500 outpatient consultations per year. Residents have a continuity clinic one half day per week with the exception of their night float rotations. There are also sub-specialty clinics at UAMS for neuromuscular disease (with emphasis on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), multiple sclerosis, seizures, and movement disorders as well as the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) clinic. At CAVHS, subspecialty clinics exist in neuromuscular disease, chronic pain, movement disorders, headache, seizures, and neuro-ophthalmology. EMG and EEG laboratories are located at both facilities.

Central Arkansas Veterans Health System (CAVHS)
The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is one of the largest and busiest VA medical systems in the country. Its two hospitals, located in Little Rock (John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital) and North Little Rock, anchor a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services, ranging from disease prevention through primary care, to complex surgical procedures, to extended rehabilitative care. This system serves as a teaching facility for more than 1,500 students and residents enrolled in more than 65 educational programs; its principal affiliate is the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital
Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) is part of the only pediatric medical system in Arkansas and one of the largest in the United States. The main campus is in Little Rock and Arkansas Children’s Northwest is in Springdale. ACH has a staff of approximately 500 physicians, 80 residents in pediatrics and pediatric specialties and more than 4,400 employees. Our physicians are consistently recognized for their outstanding performance and achievement in taking care of our young patients.
