From the Department Chair

R. Lee Archer, M.D.Welcome to the UAMS Department of Neurology website! Here you will find information about our clinical and research programs, our faculty, residents and staff, and the nervous system disorders we treat.

Diseases of the brain and nerves can rob us of independence, strength, sensation, speech, movement or memory. Our goal is to care for the whole individual, using a team approach to address all aspects of neurological problems and their effects on the patient and family.

The Department of Neurology provides outstanding neurological care for people with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. Our dedicated multidisciplinary clinical staff, clinical faculty and neurology residents provide acute and ongoing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

We aim to be the primary resource for advanced neurological care in the State of Arkansas, the place where patients and physicians come with their most challenging problems. We welcome your inquiries and the opportunity to serve you!

R. Lee Archer, M.D.
