Design Studios
The most crucial time in developing a QI project is the design phase. The DOP aids faculty members and trainees who aim to improve the way we care for our patients. The design studio is a process where the project owner presents the concept to a multidisciplinary group that consists of the Vice-Chair for Quality and Innovation, quality improvement expert, Maintenance of Certificate program expert, research expert, biostatistician, data expert, and a clinical expert.
These experts guide the project owner through improving on the project idea and identifying resources to assure a successful implementation. This method increases the scientific rigor of the QI initiative and allows for addressing design flaws in an early stage.
