Advanced Cardiovascular Surgical Training
The Cardiovascular Surgery program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital performs more than 300 pump cases per year. The program is led by Brian Reemtsen, M.D., who holds the Log-a-Load for Kids of Arkansas Endowed Chair for Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery. Dr. Reemtsen and fellow cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Lawrence Greiten work alongside a team of five cardiac anesthesiologists and a robust OR staff to provide the full spectrum of pediatric heart surgeries, including complete repairs, palliative surgeries, mechanical support, and transplantation. The facility includes two dedicated cardiovascular surgical ORs and two-hybrid suites.
