Budding Brains Lab

The Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center Budding Brains Lab, directed by Linda Larson-Prior, Ph.D., has two electrically shielded rooms equipped with 128 channel high density EEG recording systems, two EPrime systems for programming and delivery of behavioral tasks and related equipment necessary for the acquisition and analysis of brain activity and associated physiological measures in infants and children. The Lab includes three research support specialists who are responsible for programming, equipment operation and management, and processing and analysis of electronic data.

Brain Imaging Lab

The Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center Brain Imaging Lab, directed by Xiawei Ou, Ph.D., has two research coordinators, two certified research MRI techs, one research promotor, one research associate, and five research assistants. The Brain Imaging Lab has full access to Arkansas Children’s Hospital facility for research one block from the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center, which includes a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI scanner with state-of-the art coils and advanced pulse sequences for neuroimaging, two additional Philips 1.5T MRI scanners for research and clinical use, and a NordicNeuroLab system for fMRI data acquisition. Imaging processing is conducted a number of imaging processing tools as needed.

The Brain Imaging Laboratory

Directed by Xiawei Ou, Ph.D., the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center Brain Imaging Lab has full access to Arkansas Children’s Hospital facility to study brain structural and functional development in children using advanced, non-invasive neuroimaging methods.

The Budding Brains Laboratory

Directed by Linda Larson-Prior, Ph.D., the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center Budding Brains Lab has systems for programming and delivery of behavioral tasks and related equipment necessary for the acquisition and analysis of brain activity and associated physiological measures in infants and children.
