American Academy of Pediatrics- Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery- Fellow-in-Training Travel Grants

The AAP Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Research Fellowship Award, supported by The Children’s Heart Foundation (www.childrensheartfoundation.org), will provide up to $35,000 (including 4th-year fellowships and adult congenital cardiology fellowships) in funding for a training fellow in a U.S. pediatric cardiology or cardiac surgery training program (including fourth-year fellowships and adult congenital cardiology fellowships), or in an advanced pediatric or adult congenital cardiology fellowship, who has demonstrated an aptitude for basic, translational, or clinical science research.

American Academy of Pediatrics- Section on Pediatric Trainees (SOPT)-Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Grants

The Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) program is a flagship initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) which supports pediatricians to lead innovative, community-based projects that increase children’s access to optimal health or well-being. CATCH Resident grants are open to AAP resident trainees in US and Canadian AAP chapters may apply for $2,000. Fellowship trainees are eligible for grants up to $10,000. In alignment with the 2022-2023 advocacy campaign, Racing Against ACEs, SOPT will sponsor TWO (2) innovative resident projects that address adverse childhood events and/or support positive childhood experiences within their community.

The SOPT Anne E Dyson Child Advocacy Award, supported by an endowment from the Dyson Foundation, celebrates the outstanding efforts of pediatric residents as they work in their communities to improve the health of children. This award seeks to showcase projects that are designed and implemented by residents with the aim of improving the lives of children. We hope that rewarding exemplary resident-driven efforts will promote increased advocacy efforts by residents in the future and provide an opportunity for residents to help each other to plan future advocacy programs.
