EoE Clinical Research Program working with consortia to evaluate mechanisms of disease, genetic alterations and potential targets for new therapeutics
Participation in the NIH-funded Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers (CEGIR) including a longitudinal study of eosinophilic esophagitis, gastritis, gastroenteritis, and colitis. Participation will allow for development of national collaboration and can serve as a platform for development of a career in EGID research for fellows and young faculty.
Clinical Trials in EGID evaluating new therapeutics for disease modification
Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials evaluating the effectiveness of new biologic and other novel therapies for the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis in children and adolescents with the overall goal to modify disease, reduce complications and improve health of children and adults with EGIDs.
EGID Registry to longitudinally evaluate disease-modifying factors and management outcomes
An eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders registry will allow for longitudinal study of these diseases across Arkansas. EGIDs are rare and longitudinal study is imperative to gain a better understanding of disease mechanisms as well as improved diagnosis and treatment. This registry also allows for national collaboration.
